Bay State home sales rose 7 percent last month, with single-family home sales totaled 3,847 in July, up from 3,590 in the same month a year ago

In a separate report today, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors tallied a 14 percent increase in single-family home sales, based on a different set of data.

Miami Condominium Sales Rise 43 Percent in 3rd Quarter

In the Miami Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), sales of homes increased 21 percent in the 3rd qtr. compared to the 3rd qtr. last year and 73 percent compared to the 3rd qtr. of 2008. This rise marks 9 straight quarters of increasing sales according to the Miami Association of Realtors and the Southeast Florida Multiple Listing Service.

Florida sales of condominiums also increased 15 percent.

That comes at a time when new listings in the region dropped by 35 per cent from a year ago, suggesting inventories are on the way down to pre-recession levels.
